THE UNWRITTEN LOVE LETTERS : CHAPTER 1-THAT BLACK SHIRT GUY
THE
UNWRITTEN LOVE LETTERS
CHAPTER 1: THAT BLACK SHIRT GUY
It felt like I was
starting all over once again. It has been a dream come true to live in
Pallintone, but living alone has made me feel like I’m a grown-up. Everything
seems unreal. I have never imagined my life would change all at once, but
change is inevitable. The most anticipated day finally came, and it was the
first day of my college. “Bye-bye school days, Hello college days here I come”.
I decided to wear a black chic semi-sheer top paired with white denim pants and
a hula hoop earring on my first day at college. The place was mesmerizing with
buildings that rose to heaven. It was a breath-taking sight. Seven 6-story
buildings with a cafeteria, 43 testing facilities, and an indoor and outdoor
stadium. I knew it would be difficult to find my class.
While trying to
maintain my image as the cool kid in the corner, I lost my way to class. With
every tick of the clock, my anxiety level rose. It was embarrassing to ask, but
I had no other options left. While I was about to ask a guy nearby for
directions, a burst of loud laughter interrupted my attempt. When I heard the
constant giggling and laughing sound, I tried to figure out where this noise
was coming from.
It was from the guy wearing a plain black satin shirt. The guy
seemed to be a fresher, with a properly tucked-in shirt complementing his
ankle-length ash grey checked pants. Despite the cafeteria being full of
people, he was so loud that the whole place could hear him. Apparently, he
didn't mind at all. He unintentionally mentioned the directions to the Chemical
Engineering block. I thanked God for sending a saviour to save me from the
embarrassment.
I deliberately ran
straight to my class. To break the ice, the students were asked to deliver a
one-minute self-introduction. To keep it low-key cool, with great enthusiasm I
began introducing myself as "I’m Stephany Carlos from Bahington. I’m a
person with high spirits and enthusiasm. I believe in expecting the unexpected.
In both a borderland and a zombie apocalypse, I can be a reliable buddy. It’s
great meeting you all”.
Slowly, all my peers began to introduce themselves. It
was time for recess but I left my phone in my class, that’s where I met Alex
Brown, the guy with hash brown eyes and permed hair. He kept my phone safe and
returned it to me. After a few exchanges of conversations, we decided to head
to the cafeteria.
While he went to grab
some snacks. My eyes looked for the black shirt guy. Alex returned with some
snacks. While we walked past the indoor stadium, I had a strange feeling, my
heart wanted me to turn immediately. I did as my instinct said. My heart
pounded as I saw the black shirt guy again.
Last time, I couldn’t see his face
but this time I was curious to know how he looked. As the recess bell rang,
students rushed to their classes. I lost track of him so I had to go to my
class with Alex. Maybe mother nature doesn't want this to happen.
Only one person was
left to complete the self-introduction. As I was looking for my phone, the last
voice sent shrills up my body, it was very familiar. I looked up, and wasn't able to lift my sight from the guy,
an explosion of atoms happened inside my body with the flick of a finger. It was the mysterious
black-shirt guy. To my astonishment, he was my classmate. My brain refused to
accept reality. The ticking of the clock stopped. In a split second, the entire
world paused when I saw his face in the sun's gaze. He had olive green eyes and
slicked-back black hair. I heard nothing but his name, "Noah
Macadam".
The young girl smiled as
she wondered how someone's heart raced for the person she had just met. She
flipped the page slowly to see what happened next.
